MINISTRY
The Greek word in the New Testament translated as “ministry” is diakonia. The basic meaning of this word is “service.”
When our work is done “for the glory of God” (I Corinthians 10:31), “in the name of the Jesus Christ” (Colossians 3:17), and “as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23), our work becomes an act of worship.
- Do all for the glory of God.(1 Corinthians 10:31)
- Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:17)
- Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men. It is the Jesus Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24)
